especially if the root cause doesn't come from a broken bios/PCB
design/...
Building something reliable and with good support using Soekris hardware
is lottery. Plain and simple.

I bought 5 net6501-70 servers
They were mostly flawless for that time, but over the last few months 3
of them have died with the red error light and no BIOS post information.

This grub second stage hang is happened with net5501 too sometimes (but
not always).
After repartitioning CF card (small msdos boot partition) and using
syslinux as loader at least net5501 boots everytime. net6501 uses
comBIOS

Same problem, this time under linux. I can access PC87366 GPIO pins, but
looks like GPIO47 doesn't even exist on pc87366. About GPIO18 on net4801
- this is SC1100 CPU GPIO port, which not the case with net5501
