In particular, the clone cards that I've obtained previously won't
process interrupts correctly.
That manifests itself in my case in the inability to use USB interface
cards in the adapter (like a lot of cellular cards are nowdays).

I remember seeing some emails go through the list concerning the ability
to cause the card to power down for a few moments.
Now, going back to the list, I can't seem to find references to that.
Anyone remember the magic code?

Just don't want to turn the 5501 into a little puddle on the floor.
I've got the thing powered by a 12 volt 8 amp battery backed supply, so
power availability isn't an issue!

Any ideas concerning how much power is available to expansion cards in
the 4801 or 5501 families?

War Driving, huh ;-)
We have a number of the net4801's in the field running kizmet and
NetBSD with a gps device that talks over the internal serial port.
The gps's were provided by a contractor, and I've never been able to
get a model number from them that I can cross ref. Little card says

Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes a Mini-PCI card for
Cellular communications? I'm going to be using a 5501 as a remote unit
out in the boonies, and there's nothing out there, save a solar panel
and good cell coverage.
