Ok, its probably not working cause I disabled the x11 patch, it was stopping softimage from starting. I actually disabled the whole folder, was probably too much :) On Tue, Apr 7, 2015, 8:17 AM Luc-Eric Rousseau wrote: > ok it's the "wingdings" font that's used for the checkbox. I think we > sh

ok it's the "wingdings" font that's used for the checkbox. I think we ship that with XSI.. Otherwise you'd get it by installing the Microsoft core font package on linux On 4 April 2015 at 19:45, Luc-Eric Rousseau wrote: > The missing checkmark in the spreadsheet control is something about > fon

I can't say I find it crippled to be honest, and these days I find it pretty hard to work on WIndows :) CentOS isn't, admittedly, the most complete or attractive desktop system, but still... at least you have a decent windows manager, configurability, performance (considerable difference), better n

out of curiosity, what is the point in running linux if you are a small softimage shop? I use linux every day here and can certainly see the advantage for a big studio, but if softimage is your main app, why run an OS that cripples it? On Mon, Apr 6, 2015 at 4:52 AM, Raffaele Fragapane < raffs

hmm, you mean XSI's own sub windows outside the main client's? XSI does maximize to both monitors and snap, but honestly I don't even notice it anymore if I want to work on just one monitor, I just meta + middle mouse resize it on opening, after that I can move any window outside and over the deskt

We had the same problem and found out the font that Soft was searching for, it was something odd. I'll find out what it was on Monday and let you know how we fixed it. In fact I don't think we ever got a check but instead it was some odd looking shape. The other massive annoyance was how Soft wa

Fonts are a PITA on Linux, not because of technical reasons but the licensing of wide spread fonts and the poor choices of developers (availability vs licensing, fortunately it's getting better now). There are good quality open source equivalents for almost all proprietary fonts, but you'll have to

I can't tell you how to fix it, but I can tell you we're on CentOS and all those things work, so at least you know they are fixable. The missing checkmark in the spreadsheet control is something about font substitution. It's not a bitmap that's used, it's the checkmark symbol. In.. Arial font, perhaps. For the keyboard and the focus, I'm sure something can be fixed by fiddling with the window server's focus-follow-mouse setti
