Indeed In the end thats what I plan to do, but with the internet server
being very important at work for emails etc I intend to figure it all out at

and just stick with a simple Linux distro that will be easier to and smal

Hi,
Not sure if its a know problem but I'm using the same driver as you and I
get the same thing.
Jan 16 09:56:09 linux kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout

Thank you,
Although I have the same firmware and modem_run files so its not that. I
found out that it could be something to do with APIC and I've changed grub
so it loads the kernel with the noapic option, its better (touch wood) but
has done it once since changing it. If it does it again I'll

Hi,
I'm getting nowhere, I'm deleteing the pppoa3 files at startup and it will
remain alive for an hour or so and then the log file gets flooded with

Hi,
I've just started using Linux so by no means an expert but from what I've
found out by stumbling through my self is this...

correction to my previous email...
the lines in the adsl peers file read
pty "/usr/local/sbin/pppoa3 -c -m 1 -d /proc/bus/usb/003/002 - vpi 0 -vci 38"
and in the other file
pty "/usr/local/sbin/pppoa3 -c -m 2 -d /proc/bus/usb/003/003 - vpi 0 -vci 38"
the second file has the option -m 2 and no
003/003 - vpi 0 -vci 38"
I've tried it without the -c option as well, same result.
Can anyone be as so kind as to help me out?
Cheers,
Chris Bolton
