Of course, that is normal.
But for example any client on the network has access to the captive
portal and to echo request, which is normal?
If i turn that anti lockout rule off, this shouldn't be possible ?

Well here's the update... I went out and bought a 128MB CF card (Sandisk),
loaded .90 and it appears to be working as I'm sending this over the wireless
card on the wrap board through a hotel connection connected to the WAN port
(all DHCP assigned) . So out of curiousity looked at the old CF c

You may need to go into Computer Management and select the drive from
the drive management screen and repartition it (really, just delete
and readd a partition).

Thinking that the hardware could be the issue, I took the CF card out of a

Just to clarify myself - there are no Linux drivers as none are needed for
the AC580 and KPC650. They are just USB serial.

These are on LAN, it's weird..
For a client on the LAN, I have deleted a DHCP mac/ip entry, and that
client would still have access to the captive portal, or any other
service pfsense would offer.

Interesting, sounds like a bug. Are these clients on LAN or other

COOL!
There are Linux drivers, not sure if someone can port them.
Thanks..
Any chance PfSense will work with this?
Can it maybe see it as a NIC or a Modem?

For this task you could use a Soekris 4511 which has a PCMCIA slot. I
however have no clue if FreeBSD has support for the verizon.

This is why I am asking, I think it would be slick to have a self contained
wireless router that works almost anywhere you can get a Verizon signal.
VERY slick!
Been drooling over this idea for a while, I emailed PC Engines, maybe they
will consider a board with a PCMCIA slot.

Hi,
anybody attending EuroBSDCon later this month (25-27. Nov. 2005) in
Basel, Switzerland?
I've just registered and thought it would be nice to have some sort of
informal gathering (hopefully with some of the senior devs) to ask many
of the "wanted to ask anyway" and "does it actually do...
Hello,
Why is it, when Static ARP entries are enabled, a user which is not in
the DHCP client list still `sees` the server ? (can ping, etc)
Even if the user uses an ip that is in the list, and the mac is
different, it can still connect to captive portal for example.
How to get around this ?

Quick question for you/everybody. Could this be a problem with my CF card?
The reason I say this is that I attempted to load and run .86.4 and got the
error now. It's really getting out of hand ! Too many variables
floating around.
I would like to see support for some form of the Verizon cards. I have
thought of making a wireless internet router using pfsense and the
Verizon cellular broadband service.

Hi guys!
After the release of V. 0.92 (and then pulled), I didn't see any other
release... Maybe we are at the final stages, before v1.0!?
Great work, guys, and thank you again!!

Has anyone considered trying to get a WRAP and PfSense working with a PCMCIA
interface and the Verizon wireless cards?
I have been thinking about this for a while and thought it would be worth a
post to see what sort of trouble I could stir up :)
I have already been successful getting the car
I have the same problem installing on a WRAP 1E-2. Bios 1.08.
3Nic+wireless.
I tried two different CF cards: one Sandisk 256K and one 512K card of
unknown brand. You can find the bootlog in my posting from Oct, 28th.
