Hi Matt, Stefan,
OK, so I finally have a working s2ram on my Dell X200!! I first
thought it was related to the fact that Matt used intelfb while I did
not, but it turned out the trick is to have vga=792 (=0x318) as a boot
option (with or without intelfb; surprisingly vga=773, which should be

Hi Jason, Rafael,
thanks for the comments. I figured out via /sys/devices/pnp0/ that it
was the keyboard that "does not support activation"; certainly makes
sense now that the keyboard doesn't do anything... Also, the item in
my DSDT that has an error is the "EC=embedded controller". Sounds bad

Greetings again!
I wasn't aware of anything as handy as netconsole until Jason
mentioned it. With that, it is obvious that for the Dell X200 it does
come alive after resume from RAM, but not for long. Rather,

Fair enough. Attached a patch and the revised HOWTO. Hope it is
sufficiently clear... Note that this only deals with yaird; maybe
someone else can add something f
Greetings,
after getting suspend to disk working successfully on my Dell X200
(with the patch for yaird; just sent a message about that), I have
also been trying s2ram, but am having troubles: independent of the
options of s2ram, of the boot parameters (I tried init=/bin/bash,
nolapic, noapic, vga
Hi,
before anything, congratulations and thanks for making this nice
project!
But this is mostly to confirm that the patch for yaird suggested by
Jason Lunz works well, though I had to do two fairly obvious
additional steps:
- install resume to /usr/local/sbin
- add option "resume" to the entry
