a rough rule of thumb is a ten degree rise in reaction temperature doubles the reaction rate, hence halves the reaction time. When I do the acid/ base method with used oil that titrates to 9 ml KOH ( equivalent to a titration of about 6+ mls NaOH solution) I heat the oil/methanol/H+ to about 6
