Hi All.
I remember doing hydrolysis in 9th grade - Mr. Fallon's class, 3rd period.
I don't remember the "cracking" rig, but I remember using a small amount of
sulfuric acid (H2 SO4) as a catalyst.

It appears to come from natural gas, petroleum, coal.

The problem is storing the hydrogen
if you just take the electricity first produced by the solar cells and store it
in batteries you are getting much higher efficiency.

Hello all,
then this means that the best way to produce hydrogen would be thru solar
cells.
ve be aware (other than nuclear power) there is more energy per pound in
hydrogen that any other element so it doesn't take much to do a lot of work.

Sorry steve some of our hyrogen comes from the electrolosis of water and in
view of the advances of solarcells it becomes avery appealing "home" source
for hydrogen. Ask Dailmer Benze they hold all the patents.

Try Home Power magazine.
They also had a build your own hydrogen fuel cell.

Hello all,
then this means that the best way to produce hydrogen would be thru solar
cells. Its like plants using the suns energy to make and store food for a
rainy day. We could do this too and store solar energy to chemical. And
since solar energy from solar cells isnt "volumous" enough for
Hydrogen is generally considered an energy transfer medium.
You spend 500 kw [for example] converting water to hydrogen, and in a perfect
system you would get 500 kw out of it.
Also known as a 1:1 medium

Hello,
I am aware that hydrogen combines with oxygen
to make water and give off some electricity but
where does all this hydrogen come from that we
plan to use? I know there is alot out there but
it is mostly bound up in water or some other
chemical isn't it? It takes energy to free this
