I've modified the Synaser code at www.CtrlTerm.com so it works on Linux
for USB and ARM serial ports.

The ARM -051414.zip works but the -052014.zip doesn't. I can't test on
my Raspberry Pi at the moment, so I'm testing on a Nexus 7 tablet.

Three minimal FPC & fpGUI & SynaSer distros were just updated on this page:

The serial debug terminal (uses SynaSer part of Synapse) now compiles
and the Raspberry Pi works with my Gearmo USB to serial adapters (that
use FTDI chipsets).
Should be fun

A few notes I forgot to include in the readme...
Note that in WinCE the COM port name must include ":" on the end:
ser.Connect( 'COM1:');
Also note that this routine doesn't work:

A year ago I worked on fpGUI and got it supporting WinCE again. I just
did something similar for SynaSer. I'm not the smartest fellow and have
limited time, but I hope others can now add additional WinCE
improvements to SynaSer just like others did to fpGUI after I got things
started. :)

It should work as long as the devices have the same configuration (baud
rate, stop bits, parity).

I bought a GUC232A made by IOGear (with a pl2303 prolific chipset) and
that works under both i386 and ARM Linux.
It appears that some linux drivers for FTDI and MOSCHIP chipsets have
problems.
I'm glad that I found something that works, and it also appears that
SynaSer and FreePascal work OK.

Thanks f
connected radio needs 1200 baud and right now I
suspect the baud rate is not being correctly set.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
