Yeah - thanks to all and now I'm waiting. I did the toothpick thing and I figure the best thing is to keep the lowest quarter of the thing wet in the water. One of them is a little less than a quarter in the water. I'm concerned a little that my mode of avocado consumption leaves shallow cuts

Hmmm. Nice looking cave. But the photo on the web page that shows an old quarry on the site is not too enticing. And my guess is that the young timber is two feet tall, replanted after cutting. Still, it's only $3600 an acre... -- Mixon -- You may

[Texascavers] ICS 2009 fees

I haven't figured out just where the figures in George Veni's memo about the fees for the International Congress of Speleology came from, but I figure my registration will cost me $313, adding in the cost of the NSS convention banquet (included in NSS convention registrations) and camping

The ICS lasts eight days, versus five days for the NSS convention, so of course it should cost more. While I haven't had time to do a direct side-by-side comparison of the two events, my gut feeling is that I will walk away with about four times the benefit from the ICS than I would from

Sleaze, Indeed, that is a most interesting story, as much for the way it was told as for the content. I have had a few Texas and New Mexico adventures years ago but they pale by comparison to some of yours. Your travels in Mexico certainly had a higher danger quotient. I envy your experiences.
