Hello. My name is Grace. I have aggressive
neuromyelitis optica, (Devic's Disease.) and have experienced five attacks in
the last year alone. It is extremely likely that in the end, I will die
blind and helpless,as a result of either respiratory failure from brain
stem involvement, orfrom
Hi Krissy,
Yes this site does have some good info, however,
it's description of NMO (Devic's Disease) is inaccurate and misleading. I
have written toNORD requesting an update. Several weeks ago, I
contacted theOffice of Rare Diseases requesting that they also update
their info and include

Thank you Jim Lubin for a well thought
out and documented opinion regarding the controversial topic of stem cell
research.
You, if any one of us, are in the position to debate this
issue as you have so much information

Jim is absolutely right about the first stem
cell bill killed in the house. Thosewho voted against that
billshould be ashamed of themselves.I also know that
there are some forms of stem cell research that DON'T GET PRESS or any amount of
discussion. Take cord blood stem cells. Lets talk
Hey Jude,
Jim did a wonderful job with his opinion but for me, it's just an issue from the heart I suppose. Not religious, probably not a moral issue, just how I feel and no amount of facts will change it.
If it's possible to harvest my cells then bring it on.
Hope you are doing better these days
Dear Grace,
What a wonderful answer. I share your point of view but respect the views of others also.
It makes so much more sense for this debate to happen here rather than with people who have nothing to gain from stem cell research/use.

I find the heat much easier to deal with than the cold. The cold makes me more fatigued and chilled to the bone and stiff! I welcome the warmth!*cheers for a new subject!*Mary W [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Since the onset of TM, I have found it impossible to be out in the heat.Several years ago I

Hi Krissy,
The cold doesn't bother me as much! I can function, at least. But of
course it doesn't usually get below 35 degrees where I live.
According to the article, whether hot or cold, sounds as if our internal
thermostats have gone wacky.

I have trouble with both the heat and the cold. I was one who
was usually hotter than most people anyway, but TM accentuated that. I can
hardly go to Wal-Mart or the mall without getting hot and sweaty, and then my
energy is just zapped. I usually have to have one or both feet sticking

I'm just the opposite, I find the cold easier to deal with.
I can put blankets and hat on to warm up but in this hot weather I have a
difficult time cooling down.
