Congratulations on getting TM on the news in LA. Is this available in the
internet for us to view? A little birdie told me you had plans in the works to
talk with Oprah and to get recognition for TM so I wasn't as surprised as some
will be to read your post. However, I'm super impressed
WHAT Oh my gosh! Tell us all about it, Pam! So exciting! Thanks,

I sit here smiling as I hang my head in shame. lol
I've been on tmic for over four years and I've only visited the archives once.
It just wasn't as interesting as opening my computer and reading an up-to-date
post.
Fear and loneliness are as bad as lack of knowledge and the tmic has provided a
I just started a new drug to help relieve banding. The drugs
name is Tizanidine or Zanaflex. Do any of you take it or have you
previously taken it. I have just started and am not up to the normal
dose yet...however I am finding a noticable improvement in the banding.
It is interesting that

Anyone have experience with either or both of these?
I'm trying to figure out which one to get.

I just wanted you all to know that I've got an appointment next Tuesday to
try the WalkAid (for foot drop) that one of you brought up. I sent for the
info and they have a really good DVD to watch and got Jack and I pretty
excited...enough that we did make an appt to see if it would work for me.

I agree that Lyrica gives you the munchieshowever after putting
on some weight I quickly lost it...my secretkeep nothing you like to
eat in your house and try not to go out to eat. Lyrica has been a help
but it feels like the other med is acting like a booster
Yes I have taking it for 4 or 5 years now in in conjunction with baclofin. I

re: Zanaflex.
I have been on it for 4 years, I am on quite high doses of it and it helps,
though I wish I did not havr to take it at all. It really lowers my blood
pressure and worsens my orthostatic hypotension. If you increase your dosage be
sure to do it slowly over a period of up to 3
Jeanne,
Glad to hear that you are going to give it a try. I went last Tues and had the
test to try it out. The Orthotist was quite excited that he found the nerve

you are a good candidate for it. He said I am an

New MedicationHi Rob,
I take 4 mg of Zanaflex at betime. I took a lot more than the 4 mg. when I was
in the hospital and when I first came home. I had a problem at that time
though as it screwed up my liver enzymes. I had to stop taking it. A different
neuro started me back on it again about

Zanaflex was the first medication my Neuro prescribed, but he switched me to
Baclofen because I was constantly tired.
I hate to hear that about the Lyrica, because you are one of the reasons I was
willing to give it a try. I only take 75mg every 12 hours so I still have
break-through pain,
My Neuro said to expect weight gain from Lyrica and when asked why he said due
to increased appetite. Being a little stubborn sometimes, I decided to beat
the munchies and lost twelve pounds. Rob is right - don't buy them - don't
have them in the house. Show some ATTITUDE! (most of the
Hi, Patti... I really was worried about the weight gain but that was when I
was on 150mg. Every 4 hours and now am on the same as you, 75mg every 12

weight gain for me.
Some don't seem to be bothered with weight gain at

'getting started' is the hardest part and HOORAY!, I'm past that part! I

the rest. I am one of the lucky ones who can walk. With me the hardest part
