experiences so far. Recently, I bought a Touch because I'm starting to
require 88.2 and 96 kHz playback. I use a Harmony 700 remote.
The graphics and display of the Touch are quite nice but I was quite

handled by the weakest player in the sync group. Thus if you sync a
Touch and a Classic all 48khz tracks will be transcoded to 48khz.

re universal remotes, the Touch does not have the JVC remote codes that
SB3 can use in parallel with it's own codes, this is why surprisingly
many universal remotes works with SB3 or BOOM without any effort .

Unfortunately, a solution can't be found for what I want. The Other
Players plugin sounds interesting and I did read up on it but it
doesn't sound suitable.
I'll either sell my Touch and buy a Transporter or consider some other

I have to say I just assumed the wireless bridging would work. It would
be nice to place the server near the Touch but it can go next to the
router. Not ideal.

I loaded some music on an 8gig thumb drive and while it worked fine I
did not like the sound quality for some reason. I could not listen to
the thumb drive sourced music. I ejected it and pulled it out. YMMV.

To many SB3 functions omitted by it's successor and replacement.
But they just fixed:
The fixed volume at 100% in 7.6b
And the reordering of menu's also in 7.6b

Unfortunately I already had the same problem with the Controller.
It looks like their are not so many people using German and Asian
language and have deeper knowledge regarding Squeezebox.

As a benchmark I have a slower machine it has a 1,2gHZ VIA-EPIA CPU .
It handles this quite ok I have 4000 songs as limit.
