iPeng also has a landscape mode, yes. Apart from that: well, you can carry around an iPod and you can't carry around a SB Touch... I'm obviously biased (I'm the author of iPeng) but I still think purely as a controller iPeng is more suited, you usually don't want to walk up to your controller.

Thank you for clearing up the DAC questions. But I still have the question; is it better to use the photo input in my Squeezebox, or do digital out into my receiver and use the receiver's phono input? Am I overprocessing when I do this? -- romis138

You can browse the music folder or you can browse the database, which is filled with the tags. I.e. you can browse by year, by artist, by album, etc. I think there's some options to make conductors and bands show up under artist (not sure). And there are some more sophisticated (and complicated)

I'm sure there is some logging that you can turn on that will include information about the names of the files played. Another way to do this is through last.fm. In the player settings you can turn on scrobbling. From the last.fm website you would be able to see what songs you played when.

I can occasionally get no sound on my setup. I have never managed to find the problem, but the solution for me is to connect to mysqueezebox.com and then go back to SB server (My music). Doing this has always fixed it, so I've never problem-solved any further. Maybe give this a quick try? --
