Hi,
I am thinking that if the album art (if present) would load first and
complete before filling the music buffer, then this would not happen. I
am not sure where the buffer for album art is, or how to acheive this.
I'm running the same setup as you do,

When playing playlists there are no problems with SQlite except for the
very first track it plays. The first track always rebuffers in my case

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...

Thanks, Phil. No, my startup delay was set to 0. As I understood it
this concerns mp3 decoding. But now I set it to 1 like you

Actually, the reason I missed it seems to be that it is different from
yours:
How is this possible?

My startup delay is set to 2 and it was still rebuffering.
Today I also updated to 7.6.0 - r31795 and lo and behold no rebuffering
at all! I tried to break it but it stood firm. When it loads album art,
the music is not interrupted at all. Brilliant, man!

latest 7.6 beta and 7.5.3 beta has a fix where it detects a bad
database and optimizes it .
This was the outcome of the one of the bugs lately where it was
discovered thats such optimizing was not always done after a scan
(which is necessary for performance).
Also it is fixed to make sure that
Hi,
I am having the same rebuffering problem. I'm using the Touch (7.6)
with a Sheevaplug (Squeezeplug) as the server with a 1TB WD essentials
USB HD for storage. All my files are FLAC (-3 compression).
I have altered the self.decodeThreshold variable in
usr/share/jive/jive/audio/Playback.lua

But can it be as simple as this...? My friend says he rebooted the

stuttering/ buffering - on wireless.
But when he controls it from the iPad application (Sqeezepad), then the

make shure that you use MySQL Server and not SQLite (settings -
advanced - performance - MySQL Server). This immediately solved the
problem for me. No more stuttering at all though I exclusively play
flacs and many of them are 96/24-files. After changing this setting to
MySQL Server, make sure

I have qnap ts-119II and i have this kind of problems only with hires
files.
119II has 1.2GHz cpu and 512MB RAM, it is just enough for sbs.
Try to turn off all services on Qnap which you don't need or use, leave
only sbs. A faster hd with 64MB cache can also help.

I experience the same issue with a USB connected harddrive.
So, this is not a nas issue but a squeezebox issue.
This problem has been reported as a bug since 6/2010 :

When will logitech resolve this issue?

Thank you for sharing your issues - seems like this is a problem
Logitech should investigate.
I am not a programmer, nor very technical, but to mee it seems like the
Touch needs a firmware update related to lossless formats, where it
starts buffering before playing lossless file formats, instead
Basic diagnostics to test this issue:
- Try wiring all devices to eliminate WiFi issues (player, server,
library source).
- As suggested, turn off ALL other processes on the NAS.
- Try playing same files on a full wired computer running SBS (just
move a lossless album to computer).
I can

bug 16275 refers to tinysc which is the server that runs on the touch
when you plug a hdrive directly in to it via usb. using the touch this
way puts more strain on it's cpu compared to running the squeezebox
server on a pc or nas.
if you are using a nas i would follow no3 of toby10's

buffering can be caused by weak wireless or not having enough cpu/ram on
what ever is running squeezebox server (sbs). You can check the wireless
by connecting a network cable routerplayer and setting the player to
use a wired network connection. see if that sorts it then you know you
either need
Bjorn as you've tried wiring it the buffering is probably caused by the
nas. Streaming flac as flac should minimise the load on the nas. same
for any other format, don't try to transcode it will make things worse.
In the web gui you can set how sbs streams each file type.
