I'm trying to make a point that having LibreJS installed and enabled by
default may not be the best option until the kinks are worked out. Heck, I
will take a look at the XPI for the thing and see if I can help out.

Notice how it won't play in HTML5. There are advertisements in the
flash-based video player. That's the problem.
Do you really expect empathy? I mean you are on the Trisquel forum explaining
us that you want to make money with proprietary software, that sharing the
source is "stealing", that even letting the user take a look at it is bad,
etc.

User's freedom is much important than secrecy. Wishes of secrecy shouldn't
break this rule. Free software is here for that reason. Although usefulness
of free software is evident, when talking about free software we cannot loose
the view that freedom is always the most important value.

The PowerBook G4 has a PowerPC processor, hasn't it? Trisquel does not
support this architecture and I would recommend you Debian GNU/Linux (without
activating the non-free repository) for a 100% free system.

How long will you keep on promoting proprietary software on this forum? All

ola,
am very excited to try Trisquel on my old PowerBook G4.
unfortunately i cannot burn the disc image to a cd because the image counts

Remmina indeed is a client for various protocols including VNC and SSH.
grvrulz's idea of using the "Share your Desktop" feature of Empathy is a good
one, i.e., probably the easiest solution. I have never tried it though.
Videos that are supposed to have advertisements in them won't play back in
HTML5.

Why don't make the same today? in fact, I think it will be better.
I'm just worried about some extension being a default in a web browser that
breaks things. If I do throw in the licence comment for proprietary code that
I did for a client, what do I throw in there? Also, why should I list the
source code when legally I do NOT have the right to give it away?

You can try "Share your Desktop" option in Empathy while using a
Jabber/Googletalk account. Perhaps the simplest option.

Here is my big problem with this extension and this mentality in general:

VNC allows to take control of a remote desktop... but this desktop should be
in the local network because VNC is not secured. SSH is secured but does not

Use openssh (disable password authentication, use ssh-keygen, maybe
listen on another port). It allows remote login and X forwarding.
Hallo:-) I don't know if any of you have had the horrifying experience of

According to Stallman's article "The JavaScript Trap" JavaScript is
considered "non-trivial" if:
- it makes an AJAX request or is loaded along with scripts that make an AJAX
request,
- it loads external scripts dynamically or is loaded along with scripts that
do,
- it defines functions or m

I think JavaScript programs are non-free when you can see the source, but
it's without spaces and methods are named as letters or stuff like that. Also
if the Script is non-trivial and licensed under something that forbids reuse.
