I have seen something like this once.
A file had been copied between accounts, I think at UNIX level, and it
still contained an index pointing to the old account. The result was
very confusing until some searching questions were asked.

Thanks. I've submitted a case to IBM.
One point to note is I couldn't find any bogus characters in the file; but I
could
only view the file via a DOS "more LWMI_BILLIEB_39_1460744348" command because
it was
too large to edit.

On our unix system, I've just created a VOC entry that mimics ls -l, using
the path from field 2 of the VOC file record.

We used UniData and we used postscript(pcl) codes in our programming
where then the printer then interrupts that character as a graphic and
prints as so [CHAR(x)]. We used this for our checks were our logo,

It's not quite true that HP-GL/2 is in all HP laser printers...
Although it predates PCL/5, when that came out with the LaserJet III, it was
included as a subset.
So it's not found on LaserJet IIs or Is (anybody still got any?), and it should
also be found any recent laser (or inkjet) that clai

Subject: [U2] Phonetic Name Algorithms
Hey,
Does
not a problem that I recognize (having been reported and escalated to me,
etc)
SETPTR options specified?
OS version?
UniData version?
Collision with backup software or AV software checking directories?
no clue, really... :-(
1. For perhaps 20 years here we have been using HP-GL/2. What follows is
the UniBasic Source Code for an example program. I believe that HP-GL/2
lives in every HP laser printer, but not on most inkjets. Thus, except for
development time, HP-GL/2 is free. There is plenty of HP documentation on

Hey,
Does anyone have any info/insights about good phonetic algorithms?
We are all very familiar perhaps with the Soundex, Metaphone or
Double-Metaphone, but these were all designed for Latin/English language names.
The basic logic was patented in 1918.

Bill;
I've seen this happen a couple of times. We thought it was a problem
with SB+ compiled reports. I don't think I've seen it prior to UD 6 (but
it's hard to tell). I've only looked at one (it's tough when they're
that big and have the server on it's knees) but it seemed to be the

That's sweet. I'm adding that to my bag of other people's tricks.
Thank you.
