I can confirm the issue on my Hardy x86_64 and seahorse 2.22.2. I think
the importance of this bug should be High because of this bug and bug

I made a test: if configured my with static ip address (via nm-applet) and then

I did a backtrace with f-spot when the issue happens (double click on a
tag) following the istructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace
(mono --debug /usr/lib/f-spot/f-spot.exe) and after installing f-spot-
dbgsym even if I don't know if it useful as I use a mono app.

I find a way to reproduce the issue (I have an Italian installation so I try to
translate the windows labels):
- I start an Hardy Heron 8.04 live CD

I have the same issue in Hardy Heron LTS (stable release) but the problem is
not only related to gnome startup but to the whole system (in fact if switch to
a tty and I launc sudo -i the system takes too time to replay). A possible
workaround to this problem is to create via nm-applet a dhcp

posted (Screenshot-Error.png) fits the issue related this last even if your
error description is not properly the same.

I did some tests and the problem seems related to the fact the vob is not in
the format that devede expects to be a dvd compliant file. In fact you have to
extract audio and video streams, from dvd, separately (I did this with mplayer
from command line) and the authoring process runs ok.
So
I launched the command
dvdauthor -x /home/marco/movie.xml
as you see in the last lines of devede.out that I attached before and the error
is:
WARN: skipping sector, waiting for first VOBU...
ERR: SCR moves backwards, remultiplex input
--
devede cannot make dvd because of needed space maybe

It seems that evolution still downloads emails as I sayd in my second post.
Maybe I will try to test this issue in Intrepid as you say but I don't
understand why many bugs are resolved in Intrepid and not in Hardy. Isn't this
last a LTS distro which should have additional stabilization

but the result is

and audio.ac3 is 0 bytes.
