ok I can trouble shoot what exactally made the monitor work but I added all
these commands:
Option "UseEDID" "FALSE"
Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "FALSE"
Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidModes"
before the hoz and vert sync rates for the monitor not working.
Now it works

The new kernel didn't work for me--locked up things, couldn't get into
Ubuntu, and the Xserver wouldn't load.
How do I delete this kernel so it doesn't show up in GREP and load by
default if I am not there when booting up?

I'm sure someone has thought of this already, but I had this bug too and
I edited the swap entry in my fstab to point to /dev/sda6 instead of
it's UUID. Now 'free' shows the correct amount of swap. It's not
exactly a fix, but it is a temporary work around until the bug is worked
out.

I have the same bug running a pristine feisty install straight off the desktop
cd. This is on the free-as-in-beer Microsoft VirtualPC 2007, which uses the
tulip driver. (You'll have to do a tiny bit of xorg.conf editing to get feisty
to install on VPC2K7. When the borked install screen comes
I think the scores do come into play in some of the smart playlists or
dynamic playlists, but I'm not sure how. I do think I've heard that
manual ratings are given more priority than the score that's calculated
based on how often you play it.

The livecd doesn't work, it gives thesame errors, it does install after the
errors (only tried the text mode installation of the alternate installation
cd) but after the installation it cannot set DMA mode so it tries to set it
to DMA/33 PIO, but then fschk crashes and the system reb

This happens intermittently on my Acer with Atheros with Feisty. The
wireless will be working after waking from suspend, but no activity
shown. The received and sent counts are frozen. If a second Network
Monitor is added to the panel at this time, it shows activity properly
and counts packets.
