The reason I've submitted this as an Autokey-GTK bug, is because this
behavior doesn't happen in any other application I use upon using dark
themes, except autokey-gtk.

configuration in the snap directory ... snap apps also seem (whether I
agree with whether the SHOULD) to store data in the snap directory. My
Videos are data. My Downloads are data. My Documents are data. W

I normally upgrade 1 to 2 month prior to each new release.
However, due to this bug I'm staying on 16.04.5 until 2021, or until I
discover something that has all the features that shutter does.

Ok, I finally found a fix:
sudo snap install chromium --candidate
The command above installs version 69.0.3497.81 instead of 68.
The features in the bookmark-bar's context menu work fine in Chromium
69!

Here's something you might find interesting.
I remove chrominum like this:
sudo apt-get remove chromium-browser chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra
Then I installed the snap of chromium like this:
sudo snap install chromium
To my astonishment, the bug remained exactly as before!

It didn't help.
Later, I deleted this folder:
/home/user/.config/chromium
Upon next launch, Chromium recreated that folder
