Ubuntu Karmic amd64, updated every couple of days.
Three months ago the system was running Jaunty (pre-release). A third-
party .deb was added (IBM tsm backup software) which created
/etc/inittab with the following content
2D acceleration (DRI) does not work either on the AMD 780G-Chipset
(Radeon HD 3200 based). Xorg complains about DRI not being loaded, the
following error messages appear in the kernel log:

Forgot to add, appending radeon.modeset=0 to the kernel parameters fixes
the problems as well.

This bug is fixed for me on Jaunty (with 4965AGN). According to
http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1703 the fix
does not apply to the 5000 series, the fixed ucode on that chipset is
not released yet

I can definitely confirm the first two, but I'm not so sure about
suspend+resume. The only system I regularly suspend is my laptop, and I
don't think it is getting worse doing that. Not getting better either.
Oh, and the GNOME desktop (or alternative terminals like xterm) run just

ext4dev is in the Intrepid kernel, ext4 (production quality) has only
been added upstream in 2.6.28-rc. I had a few small issues with ext4dev
in the released intrepid kernel (there seems to be a memory leak on long
running systems), but it works pretty well.

When changing between several IPv6-enabled SSIDs on WLAN (with different
prefixes) or changing from wireless to wired and vice versa global IPv6
addresses and routes are not purged. This makes the box end up with

for this problem) into intrepid? I think this is the first time since at

I run a Ubuntu Hardy i386 + Xen + drbd8 + ocfs2 cluster that frequently
(every few hours, even when completely idle) reports an Oops. OCFS2 is
already disabled, it seems to be linked to drbd8 being started. The
drbd8 resource is not in use though, not even mounted on any box.

against the original debian package to incorporate the Ingo Molnar fix
(see Antonio above). It has great effect on system usage during iperf

Trolltech fixed the bug (after some persuasion), the fix is sheduled to
be included in Qt 4.4. If this version is going to be included in Hardy
feel free to close this bug, if not please apply a patch to the package
(Trolltech fixed it exactly as I proposed, they changed prepend to
append).

I installed KDE4 on Hardy and Gutsy backports today and noticed that no
application (kget, konqueror, ktorrent 3.0beta1 compiled by myself) did
connections through IPv6 by default. After spending some time in IRC I
found out that Qt4 reorders the results of getaddrinfo() in

but as far as I understood this fix it alters behaviour on the more
recent chipsets (MCP61-73). I do have a MCP55 (see lspci in #158057), so
I think it would not change anything in the behaviour.

/etc/init.d/halt and /etc/init.d/reboot use -i as argument. This
disables the networking interfaces and renders WoL-settings unusable (at

I think I found the problem. Using insserv starts udev twice at boot,
once in /etc/rcS.d/S10udev and once in /etc/rc3.d/S03udev. Apparently
the second invocation kills the permissions because the device nodes are
copied again. When I remove /etc/rc3.d/S03udev it works.
