I used to have troubles with my acer Travelmate until i used the acerhk
driver. This driver can be downloaded at http://cakey.de/acerhk/
Then i was able to control the led via following command:

So if I undertand it correctly, Rhythmbox is dependent on specific API's

1) Rhythmbox 0.10.0 (on Feisty Fawn, not that this would matter much though)

After a clean install( except for the home partion) of Feisty Amarok refuses
to play MP3 files as mentioned above.

Thanks for the additional info. I downloaded the latest praat source
code (file praat4432_sources.tar.gz) installed libmotif3, and compiled
praat. I got the same problem as you described, i.e. praat just hangs
using 100% of the CPU.
From your description it became clear to me that
I have sent an email to the author of praat to ask him to mention on his
website that praat should not be compiled with version 4.0 or higher of
gcc, until he fixes the problem.

Firefox spell checker has no dutch dictionary, eventhough I install dutch
language support.

I must admit I don't understand much of all the things beings said here
(I'm just a simple ubuntu 06.06 user), but I do think I have a simular
problem with my GforceII MX400 and Dapper Drake. When using the attached
xorg.conf my system locks-up after maybe 2 minutes of use. Frozen screen
