Их надо перенести на другой компьютер(не хочу основной нагружать
круглосуточной работой да и засыпать под шум вентиляторов).

2Гб RAM, GeForce6150 интергрированный, проприетарныйдрайвер. Показывает
отлично 98 процентов HD фильмов. Остальные 2 процентатормозят страшно.

В настоящий момент разрешение 111х117 dpi (1366 на 768 разрешение экрана) по
данным xdpyinfo.
В гномовском центре управления выставлено 96 дпи - не помогает. Нагугленное

разную температуру.
Вы точно уверены, что реальная температура диска соотв. отображаемой?
Попробуйте разных утилиток для мониторинга.

разную температуру.
Вы точно уверены, что реальная температура диска соотв. отображаемой?
Попробуйте разных утилиток для мониторинга.
Возможно винда снижает обороты винчестера при его малой активности, а убунту
этого не делает.

Ну так системный монитор вам в руки. В нем и смотрите по обращениям к винту,
кто и сколько. Можно тушить по очереди и наблюдать.
Как вариант - попробуйте НЕ монтировать ntfs-разделы, ибо обращение к ним
через ntfs-3g, если мне склероз не изменяет, идет наподобии как через
орбитальную космическую

Только вот не знаю где материнскую плату брать под DDR 1(Старая сгорела)...
Может кто чего подскажет?
