Just to add, that this bug also prevents shorewall from running properly
if it is started with traffic control enabled, i.e. if
/etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf has the line
TC_ENABLED=Internal
which i believe is default for shorewall

I can confirm this bug, on my Intel Mac Mini, I get the exact same
error. Unfortunately after the latest update, the 2.6.22 kernel fell off
the bottom of my grub menu, and I can no longer boot the computer at
all.
I had to boot off the CD, go into rescue mode, and add more kernel

I have a situation here, where it seems that the X autoconfiguration
works fine, but my monitor refuses to show any output with the refresh
rates chosen, thus even when autoconfiguration works, there is a need
for text-based tools to reconfigure. Since I have no output from X i

Just an additional update:
I have now tried remote logging in with a vnc viewer and running
displayconfig-gtk, but have been unable to actually change my
displaysettings this way. This pretty much makes hardy unusable on my
setup, as i have no idea how to get a xserver display on my screen. So
I can confirm this behaviour under Gutsy with a nokia 6110 Navigator.
The solution for me is to type
eject /dev/sdb
on the command line after umounting

I'm on the current release candidate of gutsy, and have similar issues.
I've had the modem working under feisty and it's now working under gutsy
by using the workaround described here:
http://wwwu.uni-klu.ac.at/agebhard/HuaweiE220/
After inserting the modem i get what looks like a CD-rom mount.
This seems to have been fixed with recent upgrades to the edgy kernel.
