You might need to un-install mplayer manually via Adept (or Synaptic) before
you install it with Automatix. And also make sure you have the newest
version of Automatix.

I built powertop, but it requires a kernel > than 2.6.21 with
CONFIG_TIMER_STATS enabled to show detailed stats. It does show some
interesting stuff even without this though.
