I apologise for the inclusion of logs and stuff in the post. I did try
and change it after I posted it, but the page just timed out on me every

I had the same problem once on my Wind U100. It happened when I used
the hotkey (Fn+F4) to lower the brightness. It was already all the way
down, then it started to automatically bounce up one level and back
I have the exact same issue.. though for me, wasn't present while
runnign Jaunty, only after upgrade to Karmic.

In 8.04 i have to do rmmod saa7134_alsa && rmmod saa7134 && modprobe

I have done so, but the problem persists.
The reason I had an xorg.conf file at all is because I ran the command,
"Xorg -configure" in the hope that it would help resolve this problem
and because the line "(EE) Failed to load module "i810" (module does not
exist, 0)" appeared in /var/log/Xorg.0.lo
