IBM ThinkCentre A30 2 gHz Celeron. Example linux-image 2.6.32-7 and

I see it randomly when the x server starts, or mode-switches. I've not
been able to get apport to catch it though.. I had apport disabled, and
I can't seem to get it re-enabled and working properly.

Geir, karmic 2.6.31-16 runs without nomodeset, i.e. KMS on. Karmic runs
normally with default intel xorg and default grub.cfg. Now earlier
karmics from late June thru sometime in August also would fail, but
karmic RC does not have that problem.

I've just installed 9.10 on the new HP Touchsmart 600-1050, facing the
same problem, though the touchscreen is pointed as "1926:0006" on bus
003 device 004 (usb). Also no input is connected to the device and no

"clicked", i.e. it thinks I've clicked-and-held.

When I set Visual Effects from Appearance Preferences to "None". Videos
