Hello Manny,
I am not a linux guru as well. But i must tell you, i wrote down
something more in /etc/rc.local. This could be well related to the same
problem. Combination of these lines solved the problem of my wireless
mouse/keyboard and suspend problem. In my case Linux Mint Maya.

for months, for several driver versions, and people have reported that
persistent mode makes no difference. It also doesn't make sense that it

I also have this problem. I am using an nVidia GTX460 and since I
updated to Ubuntu 11.10 I cannot configure my dual monitor with
xinerama. I use the nVidia privative drivers which can be installed in
ubuntu.
I have tried to use Gnome3 thinking this was a problem with Unity but
with Gnome3 it
Other things that I have seen is that when it works and I try to move
the mouse from the screen on the right to the screen of the left, if I
do it at a normal speed, not slowly, the mouse jumps to the end of
screen on de left... it skips the entire left screen.

of my screen went black and 1/3 was striped. After leaving the machine
idle for a few minutes the display went into sleep mode and then when I
pressed something on the keyboard to wake it up it was back to
