I'm using Ubuntu Oneiric with the 3.0 kernel in the repositories and the
entire X stack from the xorg-edgers PPA. I don't get this message
anymore (got it when I was using Natty with the main repository kernel
and Natty X (not from xorg-edgers)) and the display doesn't hang anymore
when typing in

By launcher, do you mean the dash (the thing which opens when you click

You won't find xkill in the dash, because it doesn't have its desktop
file. You can start it from Alt+f2 though. Not a bug in Unity. Closing

I upgraded to Natty today, and Unity Desktop is working fine here. There
are a few bugs, such as the menu bar becoming blank periodically, but I
guess this is affecting all users.
