Hi all,
I retested this on Oneiric with an image from 2011-07-05, on the Vostro

original report.
Let me know if more testing or more detailed information is needed.

Unity 3.8.16 (available as a proposed update) solves this problem for
me, could someone else confirm?

Here is one more thing to try: try uninstalling fglrx, from the terminal

Hi Andy,
The patch appears to still be quite experimental, that may be why it
hasn't been proposed for integration upstream. Neither the bug
discussion on kernel.org nor the mailing list for the involved kernel
subsystem (see here: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-input/) seem to

Please be aware that pre-released updates have a slight possibility of
not working well (that's why they're PRE release, after all).
Your safest bet, if it's not 100% vital for you to have the hibernate
functionality right now, is to wait until the 2.6.38-9 kernel makes it

I'm marking this bug as invalid for xserver-xorg-video-intel, as the bug
(lack of support for the hardware) is confirmed to be in the Linux
kernel, it's being worked on upstream, and an experimental patch that
enables the desired functionality is already available.

Oops, sorry, you're right about the hotkey, I'm repeating the test with
