I found a silly workaround (after trying many many other suggestions / driver

I have the same problem of black screen (white cursor not blinking in
the left upper corner) when I do a lock screen!
Suspend problem is also present. Computer goes down correctly after

I cannot see how a BIOS update can be relevant.
I probably didn't make it absolutely clear, but I saw this issue regress
between 12.04 and 13.04 not only on this Dell XPS 13, but also on a
Lenovo X410s, two entirely different laptops. I got a new workstation at
the time, and decided on testing
I have booted the livecd without issue.
So should i change the issue status?

1. In his setup it's a kernel update, using the older kernel works. Can you do

for 966744 My bug does not relate to suspend if i suspend with ATI proprietary
driver installed the computer locks up completely.

Fglrx 8.961 causes Lockups and crashes Xorg
Hi Ildefonso Camargo.
Sorry not to have replied earlier.
To me this bug has been going through 11.10 on to 12.04, it started after one
of the upgrades of Catalyst Centre, (I think around 12.1). Now i have tried
with the proprietary drive offered in Jockey and it's still locking up 2-3
times a
