I can confirm the same problem and the "Scroll Lock" workaround worked

Same problem here. I'm using Ubuntu 18.10 LiveCD and from time to time
my Ubuntu just freezes and when it happens my pendrive LED blinks like
crazy. It's hard to recover from it, but yesterday I did. The log it at

After 2 weeks and quite a bit of money I now have a new system - but
using a different motherboard and a different graphics card (Nvidia this
time). The guy who fixed the system thought the previous AMD card was

motherboard. I've also taken out the CMOS battery for a while. But I
still can't boot the PC - I still see nothing on the screen. I've also
burnt a CD with SystemRescueCD on it. I can put it in the PC's drive

there first? I'm happy to try with the new BIOS again, or, if that
fails, somehow get hold of the original BIOS version again. But right
now my smoothly working machine has been transformed into an almost dead

I also was having this problem. As mentioned by @federicotg, I upgraded
to the AMD Catalyst 14.9 driver, and I have been running Ubuntu for
about 6 days 24/7 with no leaks (at least not noticeable anyway). Xorg
stays around 250MB of usage on average for me now.

since I have updated my notebook to Ubuntu 11.04 (few days ago), I have noticed
some problems like: in a certain period of time the section restarts
automatically with no reason. When the section doesn't restart automatically,
it gets “frozen” and it only stays normal again after a “force

The screen would go to sleep, and then X would be unresponsive - except

Hello, i post my problem in #5.
I use ubuntu 9.10 karmic. The crash of openarena arrive only in this version of
ubuntu, never with 8.04, 8.10 or 9.04 with the same computer. The crash of
openarena when i am playing arrived when he want. Sometimes i can play one week
without crash. I dont use com
