RE: [UC] New Marketing CampaignCassidy,
I think you need a brilliant explanation from Tony to help you understand.
Thank you Tony, thank you.
I'd try to help you understand the authority of police power but I've noticed
that you have problems understanding the posts from reasonable people.
I noticed last week that the residents of 900 S 48th St were made to take
the plywood covers off their windows. They put it up so their recording
studio/concert venue wouldn't bother the neighbors. I heard anecdotallly
that a number of people had complained to L I.
Thanks L I!
I was searching the archives and couldn't find the email, but didn't someone
post something a while ago that said Jannie Blackwell was sponsoring a bill
to allow the posting of fliers in certain neighborhoods?
Was that right? What happened to that bill?

West Philadelphia Freecycle (www.freecycle.org) is also an excellent resource
for re-homing unwanted items. I've used it on several occastions to find new
owners for toy trains, bread makers, waffle irons and the like.

Yes, I clearly remember the thread about this a few months ago...and that the
bill had been passed. I don¹t recall who posted the email with that news.
Must be in the archive somewhere.

Bruce,
Please note that the incident you refer to was is the 900 block of S. 47th St.
Out here on 48th street we just break the law by throwing our old TV's on the
street.
By the way, the TV was gone in under two hours!

I had that TV experience, too. Put out a non-working TV with the
trash, and it was gone before the truck got there. I wonder what
trash-picking people do with TVs that don't work? Fix them?
Re-trash them? Smash them? Recycle them? (Haha).

Great video. Highly articulate, apt and to the point.

As a cautionary tale, after spending several hours filming that video in
a close, unventilated basement, smashing TVs and breathing the dust that
resulted, both the band and the crew on that video spend the next
couple of weeks coughing up blood.
Hazardous waste!

If I remember correctly, that's the Danger! Danger! house, one of
many places, mostly in W. Philly, that host DIY concerts. Thanks to a
recent article in 34th St., at least two of them have been closed,
including the much loved Connie's Ric Rac at 9th Ellsworth where

Good song. iFilm suggested that I might also enjoy Vag of Honor.

Those of us who care for Clark Park have always made an effort to leave
the posters for upcoming events up (unless they are stapled to trees) and
wait to throw them out until after the event happens or they are hanging on
by one thread of tape and before they fall off and blow around the

I don't think anyone would hold you personally responsible.
Just remember:

Newcomers should note the term University City dates back to the 1960s,
whereas UCD was spawned in the '90s. Some people can be terribly forgetful
of facts that inconvenience an otherwise juicy argument. University City
may have been somebody's marketing scheme when the name was coined, but it
