Those permissions all look OK, but from the log file there definitely
seems to be trouble with both the database and permissions on loading
LazySearch.
I wonder - have you just upgraded to SqueezeCenter 7? It might be worth
trying to delete the server cache files - they should be somewhere like
Here is my result:-
sudo ls -lR /usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/LazySearch2
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/LazySearch2:
total 148
dr-xr-xr-x 3 squeezecenter nogroup 4096 2007-11-18 19:26 HTML
-r--r--r-- 1 squeezecenter nogroup 2131 2007-11-18 19:26 INSTALL
-r--r--r-- 1 squeezecenter nogroup
OK, thanks. What about "ls -lR
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/LazySearch2"?

Hi
I like the slimserver stats, and would like to seem them recorded
somewhere so that upon a restart the information is kept. Seems like
when a logrotate is done the slimserver is restarted

Hi stuart,
The pgrep slimserver.pl did not show a process number and I checked in
the process list and slimserver.pl isn't there.
ls -ldR /usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/LazySearch2
dr-xr-xr-x 3 squeezecenter nogroup 4096 2008-03-10 21.07
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/Lazysearch2
Hope this
There are a couple of things about that log:
1. There are a lot of messages indicating another copy of SqueezeCenter
is running. Can you make sure there are no other copies of SqueezeCenter
running before you start it (you've not got an 'old' copy of SlimServer
still installed, have you?) Look
Hi the remote does not invoke lazysearch
Curiously the lazysearch2 does not have a debugging option with it in
logging all my other plugins do.
However I have enabled the plugin module loading deugging there is
sometging in the log but it is big i will attach a zipped version for
you.
+---
I've heard of this before, although I've not seen it myself.
Does the plugin seem to work on the remote control apart from this? If
not, enable debugging for the plugin within the server settings and
restart the server and take a look in the server log, and see if that
pops up anything useful.
When I build my next NAS/SC box I may consider one of 'these'

Yes the Directory LazySearch2 is owned by squeezecenter -

I appreciate your help on this.

to never run services as root. Its
I'm trying to install Squeezecenter using:

There are a few good threads in the DIY section about servers using
mini-itx motherboards. There are a few out there which will support 2
to 4 SATA drives and Chenbro makes a really nice case for this.

I cant get the LazySearch2 plugin to work, my folder tree looks like
this:-
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/LazySearch2/
then I have the following files in lazySearch2 directory:-
HTML,install.xml,INSTALL,LICENSE,plugin.pm,settings.pm,strings.txt
I restarted squeezecenter with /etc/init.d/squee
I've also voted for it.

I think adding this to SqueezeCenter this would be a useful enhancement.
I've noticed the same thing on a plugin I've been developing that will
automatically update the database when it detects changes in the music
library folder tree - that works great when adding new music, but if you
move it ar

Thanks for the answer - I was afraid that this would be the case.
The clean and rescan option works fine (I do not have to clean the
cache), but it takes over 2 hours - I already batch all the changes on
Friday night. Another anoying thing is that by doing the cleaning I

I could be mistaken but I think that, by definition, a scan for "new and
changed" tracks will not delete information that is now obsolete. You
are only adding to the database or changing entries. You'll need to do
a full "clear and rescan" for it to delete the old locations. There's
no "shortcut."
Hi,
I'm still having problems with this.
I had Slimserver 6.3.0-5 (which I downloaded via Synaptic) but I found
that, although my Squeezebox 3 saw the server and correctly displayed
the tracks, none of the tracks (flac or wav) would actually play. I
reverted back to a windows machine to check t
Hello,
I am running SlimServer 6.3.1 on a HifidelioPro Music Center.
I sometimes find mistakes in song/album names and use the Hifidelio to
do corrections in the metadata. When changing the metadata, the
Hifidelio also physically renames the file on disk to reflect the
change - this is the way it
