the JDBC driver.
Personally, I prefer Postgres. Never had a problem and the tools for
maintaining it are the best.

With OFBiz out-of-the-box (OOTB) you can always buy anonymously. Perhaps
the confusion might be in what Bernat is calling "registration".
(Creating an account with a user login vs. creating a unique user
identifier record in the Party table. A Party record is always created
article, it's more about economics. For instance it's far more easier
with multi tenant to create a new account for a new client.
There are "endless" points to consider...

Anyhow, you may need to look at the code for more help in figuring this
out. In my case, I think I had to add support (code) for mime types like
PDF.
