I have no problems with LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 in Ubuntu 13.10 on several
different computers.I use the version from The document foundation, and
not from Ubuntu.
If you are using the Ubuntu version and wish to try The Document
Foundation version, you must purge your system of all of the Ubu
labels on row 1, and paste into the complete second row. Then I copy
rows 1 and two and paste into rows 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, and 9 & 10. It
really goes pretty fast that way.

I've had very, very good luck with LibreOffice, and prior to that,
OpenOffice, by using the direct downloads rather than the version in the
repositories. Disk space doesn't seem to be a problem. I've never used a
SSD, but I've read where they have a finite number of times that they

In LibreOffice 3.4.5 on Ubuntu 11.10 with 6 gigs of ram it froze

I had this issue when trying to install Ubuntu on my brother's new
computer last year. Most likely it is due to the way raid is installed
and handled on boot on your computer. I've only every used Ubuntu, but I
would assume the live CD for Mint works the same as the Ubuntu's live

Yes, you are correct. That does say PDF, and yes, I have seen that
before. All of the printers I use say that, but that does not mean that
it is printing in PDF format. Right now I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8000
inkjet connected to this computer, as well as a Samsung ML 1710
monochrome

I have been following this thread, and quite honestly, I have never seen
this issue. I've been using LibreOffice since the first 3.3.x version,
through all of the updates to presently 3.4.5. I have it on at least 9
machines. All of the machines have been upgraded through Ubuntu 10.10.

There are different pdf merge utilities in the Ubuntu Software Center.
