Hi,
If you do need to be able to open the new MS Office 2007 files
NeoOffice (based on OpenOffice) will open them .
This is for macintosh only. I would recommend trying both OpenOffice
and NeoOffice on one of your macs to see which is more appropriate
for your use.
Hope this helps

You cannot open these files directly with OpenOffice. You will have to
save them first (with MS Works) in a format like Word (.doc) or .RTF,
and these formats can be read by OpenOffice.

I have a couple of Microsoft Works files. These have a "wdb" file
extension. Can these be opened with Oppen Office? If so,
you have to use ctrl-v to paste inside an x11 window -- so if you are
copying from a Mac application you use cmd-c (as usual) and then
paste using cnrl-v.

I got it working now, thanks for the help. New problem though, I can't
paste anything into a Calc spreadsheet - can't find anything on the
support forums about it either, any thoughts?

Thanks for getting back to me, I installed the X11 but it still won't
open for me. I dragged it to my Applications folder, than to my Dock, it
opens for a second, than closes - I run a intel mac (the MacBook Pro) -
so neoffice is out for me.

My guess is that you have not installed X11 yet --pop in your Apple
System DVD and double click the "optional Installations" -- select
X11 and you will be good to go.
