I just installed vpopmail-5.0.tar.gz, sqwebmail-3.1.0.20011006.tar.gz on my
linux server.
I am able to create domains and users using the vadddomain and vadduser
commands. I am able to send a receive emails using sqwebmail.
I am now trying to install vqregister-2.6.tar.gz. I modified the Makefile
The base M$SQL protocol is Sybase. So you can actually develop a Sybase
module and the talk natively to the M$SQL server. You do have to run a
service pack on M$SQL2000 to get it to run Sybase compatibility. And the
Sybase SDK to build the module isn't the cheapest thing on the planet.

You don't have to give them the postmaster password.
Non-postmaster users can log in to just change their own user
settings like passwo
You must be reading the wrong docs then. SQWebmail can change vpopmail
passwords. Trust me on this, I use it on many mail servers.

Or if you also want to offer webmail, look at http://www.courier-mta.org and
under sqwebmail. It allows vpopmail users to change their own passwords.

Try qmailadmin. http://www.inter7.com/qmailadmin
Does lots more, too.

Is some way to change the password via the web??? (i say for customers).
I use vpopmail 5.0...
Thanks
It will miss a lot of mail if you have .qmail-alias not using vdelivermail,
But if you have a majority of the mail going to accounts not using
vdelivermail why use vpopmail at all? But if I was running let say a free
email site or a ISP and have hundred of thousands of accounts the Virge
solution
vpopmail.c, function tcprules_open, line 2067 copies the uninitialized
variable template to bin2:
strncat( bin2, template, BUFF_SIZE);
That line should probably be removed.
Also, the relay_template variable seems to no longer be used in that file.
With all do respect, that installation procedure described in the link below
will miss a lot of incoming email - starting with email coming to aliases of
real accounts, which are defiled with .qmail- pointing directly to
the destination maildir, like qmailadmin is creating them : only the e-mail

Hello,
one of our clients keeps bitching about ezmlm being crap (not a point
of view I share, although I can understand that he doesn't like the
admin capabilities, not even with ezmlmweb) so now I wonder whether

If your looking for something that is not written in Perl and more efficent.
Try Virge. It was originally written for sendmail but patches listed below
to allow it to work with Vpopmail. uses TrendMicro or Sophos. And is much
eaiser to install (Don't have to mess with Perl or CSPAN).

I am trying forwarding an entire vpopmail domain to a single pop3 account.
mdaemon server (win9x/winnt) connect to this pop3 server
and deliver emails, seeking in the headers of each email
I solved this problem!
DNS looks fine.
There is a "big DNS" patch for qmail at www.qmail.org
That is in case if DNS return more than 512 bytes
http://www.ckdhr.com/ckd/qmail-103.patch
Stupid, it should be included in regular qmail instalation, too much wasted time
for small thinks to find out :-)

one has written a module like that. Umm...I suppose if you could possibly
write an ODBC module? Obviously my knowledge of M$SQL is limited (read: non

Yup that looks like a dns issue. Are you able to find the MX records for
the domains you're sending email to? Can you resolve them at all? If it's
only happening for a couple domains I wouldn't be too worried about it. But
if it's happening for *all* then I'd start worrying about your dns serv
Not sure the vpopmail list is the best place to be asking a sqwebmail

it's running inside there. The name of authdaemon doesn't really seem to

Hi Roman;
Clear-text passwords are just that. It's more of an administrative tool for
you that allows you to see what the customers password is. It's viewable
via the vuserinfo command. However, if you want to use this, you need to

don't flame me for asking this silly question... :) but does exist a
module / patch to use a MS SQL server as authentication backend for
vpopmail? Something like mySQL one...
