But now, rather than accept anything, it's refusing everything. I know
the passwd that I'm testing with is good (I can verify it in my

Courier doesn't use the vchkpw code when it auth's a user.
What it does is :
take the username/password supplied by the user,
runs vauth_getpw() to retrieve that user's passwd entry,
runs a crypts the password supplied by the user,
compares the crypted pass against the pass in the pwent.
If it matches then auth is successful, else declared a failure.

You should do exactly what vpopmail expects you to do:
- change the (encrypted and plain text) password in 'vpasswd'.
- run vmkpasswd $domain (substitute '$domain' with name of the domai

Is --enable-apop=y automatically enabled on new VPOPMAIL 5.0 builds?
More importantly, if I simply add a trailing : to each line of my CDB files,
and set --enable-learn-passwords=y --enable-clear-passwd=y, will it ensure

Most situations would be fine with this, however, the reason
I stated my method, rather than the alternative, is because
some people specify other directories to add domains into.

Well,
options are:
enable roaming users, enable default quota, enable tcpserver
file(/home/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp), enable ucspi-dir, enable passwd=y.
That's all.
Hope this is better, sorry but it's a real problem for me...
Thanks,
Andrea

I have 2 domains (helenlarsen.com and silentcooperative.com). they're also
virtual domains. I've created users both in /etc/passwd and shadow, as well
as vadduser'd a user for the helenlarse
