A guy was using two of my hoppers in his wingcutter description on eBay. But
he didn't download the pictures on his computer for uploading himself.
Instead he pointed straight to them in HTML code... so the pictures are
still on my domain.
Very good Nick. I did not see much wrong until I scrolled down! I wonder if
he is aware yet. That will teach him to steal your photos without asking and
it would put me off from ever buying from him.

Hi VFB!
A question: I am in the market for a fly tying bobbin holder that is meant
to handle those small stainless steel spools made for sewing machines.
In looking over the various manufacturers' catalogs, I see a confusing array
of bobbin holders: some labeled small or midge but none saying
Attached is a pic of the kind of spool I am talking about.

Yes I do. You and I spent a long time and many emails discussing it.
Thanks, I should have mentioned that you are part of the small digital

One guy slammed me and my DVD for profiteering in the fly-tying market. He

The problem with steel spools is that they don't have much friction and spin
too easily in the bobbin. I have some and I use normal bobbins with the legs
bent together to make them tight, then I wrap the thread around one leg to make
create some friction, just a tad more loose than I want.
Thanks DonO...
How about the plastic versions of the small spools. Have you tried those?

Plastic work fine and creates more friction than steel. If there's a sharp
edge on the center hole of the spool, file a bevel on the edge to match the
diameter of the bobbin ball, and that will give you many times more friction,
expecially if you 'rough-file' it.
I've also glued clutch

They might still be available at some shops. It was a name company but I don't

There ARE actions you can buy. That's just an optional addition. I have

then it's just to record your own.
What buttons can't you find... 'Button mode' or the 'Actions' window? Try

Wes, I use those bobbins with a very inexpensive Griffin (I think)

Wes,
I'd like to host this swap for 12 swappers, fly size is size 6 to 10, your
choice of material, you tie a bakers dozen (13 flies) and I use one for the
Arkansas Children's
Hospital auction. Regular rules, flies due April 15th, 2011. Once the swap is
full I will move off list.
