Been tying them in Burnt Orange for years. They work on all types of fish
including Trout. Works very well on Crooked Creek and on the White River. I tie
them mostly with a Fire Orange head and no bead. If I want a heaver fly, I will
use a bead or a Cone head.

You are not being cheap, just frugal like me. I tied for the shops and the
resorts for four years and learned how not to waste materials. I can go into
some of the ways I save on materials but am pressed for time right now. I might

don't go through the top end.
The thin tail end will slip through the bobbin stem and it leaves the loop open
to run the thread through it.

Grains not in Grams..
It might be hard to read Grains in the photos. Allan's readings are in Grams so
there will be a considerable difference in reading the numbers.
