That is the default behavior, if you want to turn this off go to Settings, Notification Center, Messages. Almost at the bottom look for Repeat Alerts. This will say Once which means your alerts repeat once after 2 minutes. Double tap on it and set it to Never if you want to just get a single

Hi Richard. I have had no problems with the app, it took me a little time to figure out the buttons. I use braille, so this two buttons you mention is looking as arrow keys, I do not remember if it is to navigate in a file or from file to file. But it is a little tricky at that point.
