The one good thing the Pen Friend has going for itself is the small size of the labels. I rarely use mine and really should sell it, I find it way to inconvenient to get the Pen Friend and then to scan all my spice containers, if they have a braille label I can do it in half the time or less

If you just want to scan stuff, don’t care about saving things permanently, then you can just use Voice Dream scanner. You can’t do PDF images, however, unless you have a Voice Dream reader, because you have to import the image into the reader in order to get the scanned text via the scanner
