instead. Also, fully power down the phone or at least put it on Airplane
mode to speed up charging. It really should only take a couple of hours

others on these lists and even one person saying their iPhone quit working.
To me, pay for an apple cable or risk your investment

Not sure why phone will report both 100 % capacity and charging at the
