What does this line from the text on the included link mean?
7.After confirming your password, iTunes starts backing up and also immediately
overwrites and encrypts your previous backups.

Hi, list.
I have Iphone 5 with ios8.3 for the last 25 months.
I might have done encrypted back up sometimes ago which I can not recall.
Last week when I tried to do an encrypted backup, the system asked for
password and I have no clue.
What should I do now?
Do simple backup or what?
Thanks!
I thought Fazil merely wanted to make an encrypted backup not restore from an
existing backup? If you want to make an encrypted backup and the computer asks
for a password, this is because you have to invent a password to protect your
encrypted backup from a device the first time you do one.
but do it one day whenever I'd upgrade my Iphone5.
Thanks!

Congratulations, your password worked. Ok seriously, there is no way to
retrieve the password. I suggest you read this:
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT203790
Your two options are:
Erase your device and start over, or restore from an iCloud backup.

Sorry if I misread. In that case yes, Harry is right. Use a password
you will not forget because in this case, it is not recoverable!

Hi,
I cannot remember the password I set when I set up to have encrypted backups
made to my computer. I’ve tried the ideas I can think of for what my password
might have been and none worked. Fortunately, I do not need to restore
anything to my phone. However, I want to fix the problem
, the
instructions might differ.
Good luck.

Charles, thanks for this, but it does raise two questions.
One. Is the old password still active? It doesn’t seem that it is asking you to
change it, just adding another one.

I Googled this and the Apple Support article seems to confirm that without
the encrypted backup password, you can't start over with another backup.
Here's an Apple Support article on Troubleshooting Encrypted Backups but I
didn't find any help with their troubleshooting
