Mary, perhaps asking a sighted person with a knowledge of fonts and their on-screen presentation to look at the book might give clues as to why words are being spelled out. This information might not help you fix the problem, but it might serve as amunition during the refund process. Crraig On S

Thanks, Craig. It appears that the entire book that I have is showing this problem. I have not looked at every page, but I have looked at several throughout the book, and they all have the same thing. I guess I will have to try to find out if I can get a refund for this book from Apple. Too bad,
