- A possible ristricition is that the ports vnc tries to use are blocked somewhere,

Arnt, Thank you very much for your indication.
I have retrieved the thread, where Stephan Edelman writes to a similar

Hi,
I have been through the self help and cannot find anything about the

Just copy the server and the omni library and it worked...
Would need some messing with to get it right, but it might be

questions: 1) why did it freeze up? 2) why

They may be what you're looking for.

We are trying here to use VNC with -inetd option, but we don't have any
response.
I've read http://www.dei.isep.ipp.pt/~andre/extern/ixvnc.htm

Xvnc.5 -inetd -broadcast -once -geometry 1024x768

Hi,
I'm getting myself the response :
On Solaris, the lines in inetd.conf are troncated, so my first line is
surely cut somewhere inside a word, so it doesn't work.
So the second try should have worked !
But I've forgotten to put #!/bin/sh at the begining of vncserver.inetd.
Now, it works !

This is a middle school and I am attempting to

been several fairly severe abuses. Now that you

Hi, I'm looking into the security side of VNC and i've noticed that people
have managed to get the VNC protocol working thorugh SSH and telnet. I was

achieved and what would be the advantages of using SSH to encrypt a VNC
Presumably, one could email them a self-extracting zip file that would, when
executed, automatically start a batch file running that would perform a
silent install of VNC. I have done something similar in the past and it
works well.
Just to get you going in the right direction, below is the batch

Hi, I'm new to VNC, but after a fortnight messing with it, and

Im having difficulties the Ctrl + Alt + Del combination in VNC, the combination makes
