Hi,
I guess every member of WAMUG knows how strongly I feel about Apple
discontinuing the 17 MacBook Pro. Apple has shown the ability to do a retina
display at any screen size it wants.
So please Apple Include the 17 MacBook Pro with retina display in this year's
MacBook Pro range launch.
How

Please put my name one one,

Hi Brian,
Thankfully my 17 MacBookPro8,3 (early 2011) is still running perfectly.
But as soon as Apple announce a new 17 MacBook Pro retina display, I will be
ordering one ;-)
There has been thousands of people (including me) that have been sending
feedback to Apple since they discontinued the
Hi Ronnie and Brian. with the last 4 years of Apple ownership taking command of
the house entirely, I want to actually get one of these for myself now. Wife
and three kids of mine all have iPod/iPhone/iPad/Macbook combinations between
them, and all I have is an iPhone 4 - plus the iPad I
I have every finger toe crossed for you Ronni !

Hi folks,
About a week ago I installed a 1TB WD Portable Hard Drive to use as my Time
Machine.
It has worked fine except for one point.
Every so often I return to my iMac after a few hours away to find a message
that I have unplugged the hard drive without ejecting it. I have NOT unplugged
Hi Stephen,
What OS X are you running? Is the WD external connected by USB of FW?
First thing to check go into the Energy Saver preference pane in System
Preferences.
Check to see if you have enabled the item: Put Hard Disk(s) to sleep when
possible.
If it is enabled, DISABLE it.
This item
Hi Ronni,
That item is already disabled.
My Time Capsule and my old wired modem had both been playing up recently.
So I replaced both of them with a Telstra WiFi Modem.
So I plugged in this spare HD and switched Time Machine to it.
I just can't figure why it un-mounts randomly like this ?
I have
Hi Pete,
So have you seen the cartoon:
Son sitting with iPad, daughter talking on an iPhone parent with iPaid!
On a serious note, perhaps a SSD would be an option - more robust?

Hi Pete
The 27 LED screens are great, well worth it. I use one with my laptop when at
home and recommend them. And when you compare the price (For what you get) to
comparable other non-Apple models they aren't actually that expensive.
If you store a lot of stuff then yes, the 512GB Flash Drive
Hi Stephen,
Do you receive this message after the iMac wakes from Sleep?
Some external drives will give this message when the computer wakes from an
extended sleep.
What model WD portable drive is it?
Have you tried other USB ports?
1. Check first if your WD external has a firmware upgrade
Yes thanks Brian, I would certainly like to opt for SSD. will do when I place
order.

Hi Pete
Retina Displays only come with Flash Drives (ie SSD), as standard so you don't
need to adjust it. Just the size of the drive you want :)
Hope that helps.

Thanks Daniel, yes i like the 27 Thunderbolt displays. i have an iTunes
library around 220GB and photos 50GB, so 256GB no good for me and no doubt
they will get bigger not smaller.
Do you feel that the extra cost of the retina is worth it over the non-retina
MBP in 13. I always wondered why
Ok, noted thanks Daniel.
