For no apparent reason, suddenly Mail on my Mac is not connecting to the wifi.
I can't send or receive anything. This letter is being written on the iPad.
The wifi is working properly: the iPad and my husband's laptop have no
difficulty with it. There are apps on the iPad that interact with the
Yesterday the boot disk of my Mac Pro suddenly began filling up with something
unknown. Tech tool Pro put up messages saying the disk had only 13% free space
left, out of 320 GB. The only thing I could think to do was try to find out
where the excess was accumulating. This seemed to be the Ap
e time and effort to walk me through this
process. Thanks very much indeed.
Very gratefully,

Hi, Ronni,
There seem to be a few icons that this doesn't work on (maybe
important 'core' icons?). I changed the HD icon on my G4 desktop
machine, but try as I might, I can't change the HD icon on the
PowerBook.

I faced this problem 4 years ago when I switched from an old
tangerine iMac to a G4. I was not able to do it. My memory of it is
dim, also, but I recall the main problem was not the cable but
incompatible data formats between the 2 machines.

Does anyone care to speculate how long the wait is going to be for
all types of Macs once Leopard arrives? Many, many months is my guess.

Hello, all,
It used to be that there was some kind soul/s who used to mention the
release of new updates in the WAMUG list. This hasn't happened for
some time, and I just discovered I am about a year in arrears for
security updates.
Are security updates 'combo' style? That is, does the
Hi, Martin,
A year ago we went looking for a UPS system to use at home for my G4

Hi, Rob,
Thanks for your reply - I did try Keychain First Aid but it said it
couldn't fix the problem.
Actually, I have resolved the Keychain troubles. There were a few
similar letters about Keychain problems on the Apple forums. It
turns out that it was the upgrade to 10.4.8 that cause
Hi,
My Keychain application has suddenly become corrupted. It no longer
recognises any password for me, past or present. This same thing
happened previously, about 2 years ago. I'm using OS 10.4.8,
upgraded from .7 a week ago, on a G4 1.42 gH dual processor PPC.

Hi, Frank,
I took the sick monitor up to the Joondalup Apple store. Mike and
his crew diagnosed the problem as a failed inverter and replaced it
for a very modest price. So, I am back in business.
Thanks very much to Bob, Frank, and Mike and the guys,

I just heard about weighing scales (like those in the Post Office)

Hello -
I need to find out if a G4 Powerbook with a combo slot-loading
