Shay,
My understanding
My G4 PowerBook running OS 10.2.3 behaves erratically from time to time when
put to sleep.
When I close the PowerBook the 'sleep' light on the lid latch does not light
up: on opening the PowerBook the screen is blank (black) and regardless of

Now, every time my computer goes to sleep and wakes back up, it has

Or try setting up a different location in the network preferences and
then switching location after sleep.
Thanks for the reply Shay!
Sorry, to be more specific: I wasn't using the DHCP server because I wanted
to map ftp and ssh ports through to my computer, for when I'm not near it.

There was an email from a group member about canon Scanner Drivers
The drivers available at the moment are Photoshop 7 plug ins
Someone pointed me in the direction of VueScan
It is a very good bit of software and it seems faster than Canon
Try it

Following on from my OSX sleep problem, where I found that the problem was
the canon scanner driver, I took Shay's suggestion of checking if there was
an updated version of the driver. I went to the Canon Australia site, to
driver downloads for the N1240U and found 2 for the Mac
I would be very interested in the answer to this too

So, to summarise
1) Re-start the computer, all OK, sleeps normally.
2) Start classic, problem appears - put computer to sleep and it
immediately re-awakens.
3) Force classic to quit - problem remains
4) Re-start the computer, all OK, sleeps normally.
Any suggestions as to what this pattern

2) Since I want to use my scanner, my choice at present seems to be:
a) Revert to booting in OS9 and retain sleep functionality
b) Stay with OSX but have to completely shut down when not working on
the computer.
Neither of these choices is that appealing! Is there any other way around
Hi all,
I'm still having problems with putting my iMac to bed! As I noted a few
weeks back:
The iMac will not sleep reliably. If I put it to sleep it immediately
re-awakens. If left it will put itself to sleep but keeps re-awakening
itself. Very occasionally it seems to work OK and stay asleep
